We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure team, bringing deep expertise in AWS, Terraform, Istio, Kubernetes, GitHub, Bash, and Python. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, scalability, and security of our production systems, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our customers.
Key Responsabilities
- Design and Implement Scalable Infrastructure: Develop, manage, and optimize our AWS cloud infrastructure to support application deployment and scalability needs using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, primarily leveraging Terraform.
- Manage Kubernetes Environments: Deploy, scale, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in AWS, ensuring the health and availability of applications. Utilize Istio service mesh to manage traffic flow and secure communication between services.
- Monitoring and Incident Response: Establish and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure system reliability and fast incident response. Work with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools for metrics tracking and visualization.
- Automation and Scripting: Create and maintain Bash and Python scripts to automate workflows, manage deployment pipelines, and perform maintenance tasks. Automate common tasks to improve productivity and reduce potential human errors.
- Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD): Set up, manage, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or other tools, enabling efficient and reliable code deployments to production environments.
- Capacity and Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize infrastructure performance, manage resource allocation, and ensure efficient use of cloud resources to maintain cost-effectiveness and high availability.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with security best practices, manage IAM policies, and oversee security configurations across infrastructure components, focusing on least-privilege access.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, and other technical teams to support a collaborative work environment and mentor junior team members to advance their technical skills.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar roles.
- Proven experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.).Strong background in infrastructure as code, specifically Terraform.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, including Istio service mesh, for managing microservices.
- Technical Skills:Cloud Infrastructure: Deep understanding of AWS architecture, networking, and cloud best practices.
- IaC and Configuration Management: Expertise in Terraform and experience with Git for version control.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Skilled with Kubernetes for deployment, scaling, and managing containerized applications.
- Service Mesh: Working knowledge of Istio to enable secure, resilient service-to-service communications.
- Scripting: Proficiency in Bash and Python for automation.
- CI/CD: Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
- Soft Skills:Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to approach problems from different angles, demonstrating critical thinking in every project stage.
- Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile principles and practices, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Collaboration & Communication: Outstanding communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, balancing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
